Inspire the Future Postgraduate Scholarships
The Inspire the Future Scholarship offers a 40%* reduction in fees for taught masters or postgraduate diploma courses with September start dates. Twenty scholarships are available to progressing Ji8¸£ÀûÍø undergraduate students and recent graduates.
We are able to offer this scholarship through the generous support of Ji8¸£ÀûÍø alumni and friends to our Inspire the Future campaign. The purpose of the scholarship is to encourage academic excellence and allow talented graduates to continue to higher levels of learning and research.
Who is eligible for the award?
To be considered, you must:
- Have completed an undergraduate degree at Ji8¸£ÀûÍø in 2022-2024 or be completing one in 2025
- Be classed as 'home' for fees purposes
- Have achieved, or expect to achieve, a 2:1 classification in your undergraduate degree
- Be in the first generation of their family to attend university
- Have a family household income of less than £25,000 per year
- Identify as being disabled or have a specific learning difference
- Be recognised by social services as a young adult carer
- Have spent time in care in the UK, been placed in a foyer or are estranged from your family AND were under 25 at the point of first enrolment at Ji8¸£ÀûÍø
- Be in receipt of a Sanctuary Scholarship
*At the point of first enrolment as an undergraduate student. Evidence may be requested if not already held by the University.
- To students who have already started their postgraduate studies (including completion of other Level 7 qualifications)
- For those classed as 'overseas' for fees purposes
- For PGCE, MBA, Midwifery, Radiography, post-qualifying Social Work, Master’s by Research or PhD study
- For students with undergraduate degree outcomes of 2:2 or below
How are applications judged?
Representatives of the academic staff in the faculty of the course you are applying for will make the decision on the award of scholarships. Your application will be judged on:
- Your academic success to date and your future potential, as evidenced by undergraduate module results, awards and references from those who have taught you at Ji8¸£ÀûÍø
- Your demonstration (in your personal statement in the application form) of the impact that studying this course will have on your future and the wider world
How to apply
For September 2025 entry, register your interest in this scholarship below. If you have registered your interest, you will receive advice and support with making a formal application in the spring of 2025.

When will applicants be notified?
Once we have received your application, we will acknowledge receipt by email where possible. We may also get in touch to request further information to support your application or to let you know your application is incomplete or ineligible.
Other than this, we will not be in communication with you until after all applications have been considered. Once decisions have been made, the applicants will be emailed informing them of the outcome.
Please note that the committee will not undertake or participate in any individual correspondence with applicants, either before or after the decision has been made.
The decision of the selection board is final.
Frequently asked questions
Once you have been informed of your scholarship by email, you must formally accept the scholarship and the conditions of the award in writing. The conditions of the award will require your participation in promotional activities for the University. This may include attendance at receptions and social events and/or the provision of testimonials and articles for use in publicity materials and reports.
The scholarship must be used for the academic course and year for which it was applied and awarded. If you change course or defer your year of entry, the offer of a scholarship will be withdrawn.

Please note, Ji8¸£ÀûÍø reserves the right to withdraw or amend a scholarship without prior notification. Scholarships are offered subject to funding and availability.
*The Inspire the Future Scholarship cannot be combined with other Kingston University scholarships or discounts. Therefore, for those who are eligible for a 15% or 10% fee discount, the total discount they would receive for each year of their course, if awarded an Inspire the Future postgraduate scholarship, would be 40%.
