We provide a range of programmes, frameworks and support to help students and staff develop. You can explore them in more detail below.
Kingston Academic Practice Standards (KAPS) framework
This programme is aimed at experienced staff who wish to achieve professional recognition as a teacher in the higher education sector via the experiential route.
Introduction for Learning and Teaching (ILT) programme
This is a programme designed for new academic and non-academic members of staff, who wish to gain a better understanding on how to support students in the learning process.
Technology Enhanced Learning (TEL)
LTEC values the effective and appropriate use of technologies in learning, teaching and assessment, ensuring an excellent technology-mediated learning experience for all our students.
Our Enterprise Education programme encourages students to develop skills for innovation, and the can-do attitudes that will help them to thrive personally and professionally, expanding options for graduate outcomes.
LTEC oversees annual events such as the Festival of Learning, as well as learning and teaching awards such as the Provost's Award and the National Teaching Fellowship Scheme, which enable staff from across the University to showcase their excellent practice.
LTEC delivers a range of activities to support high quality learning, teaching and academic support, including the Course Leaders Programme, the Peer Supported Learning and Teaching Scheme and a broad range of professional development which enhances academic practice.
LTEC supports curriculum development and enhancement by collaborating with course teams to improve the content and delivery of their courses. We facilitate an inclusive approach encouraging co-creation between staff and students.
