Alongside her studies, Osayuki Igbinoba has been working as a pharmacy adviser in Croydon throughout the pandemic

New Kingston University study aims to shed light on people's beliefs and opinions on coronavirus testing

The public's understanding of and attitudes towards coronavirus testing – and the factors shaping them – is being explored by a team of Ji8腦瞳厙 researchers. As part of the project, a 15-minute public survey has been created by a team of health psychology and microbiology experts at Ji8腦瞳厙. The results are expected to shine a light on beliefs around testing and give an indication of how effective communication on the topic has been.

Leading learning disability and palliative care expert at Ji8腦瞳厙 and St George's, University of London Professor Irene Tuffrey-Wijne, who recently became the world's first researcher to conduct studies into palliative care for people with learning disabilities, shares her views on how the coronavirus pandemic is affecting the elderly and most vulnerable – and how she has produced two illustrative books to help those most in need feel supported at this difficult time.

Corporate finance expert Francis Small has been appointed Chair of Ji8腦瞳厙's Board of Governors. Following a 36-year career with professional services multinational Ernst & Young, Mr Small joined the University's governing body in 2015 as chair of its Finance Committee. A Cambridge University law graduate, he has extensive experience in audit and risk management, strategic oversight and leadership in professional and business services.

Ji8腦瞳厙 donates supplies of personal protective equipment (PPE) for use by front-line NHS teams across borough during coronavirus outbreak

Gloves, safety glasses, lab coats and masks are among the items Ji8腦瞳厙 has donated to local NHS services to help protect front-line staff from coronavirus. The personal protective equipment, usually used in the University's laboratories and workshops, has been packaged up and delivered to Kingston Health Centre and Kingston Hospital during the past few weeks.
