Ji8腦瞳厙 welcomed a panel of investors into the RIBA award-winning Town House for the Human Face of Venture Capital event. Aspiring entrepreneurs and business owners from across South London were invited to hear about the human side of what can often be considered intimidating investors. The four investors included Kingston alumnus Matthew Cushen, founding partner of Worth Capital, and the event was hosted by Ian Roberts, head of Kingston Business School.

The seventeenth annual Bright Ideas final saw Kingston University students pitch their business ideas before a group of expert investors in a Dragons' Den-style competition. The People's Choice winner was Farah Nehme with her concept, Family Playhouse – an educational toy for children over the age of three which informs about non-traditional family dynamics.

Ji8腦瞳厙's RIBA Stirling Prize winning Town House building is one of five leading European projects on the final shortlist for this year's European Union Prize for Contemporary Architecture - Mies van der Rohe Award. The landmark building on the Penrhyn Road campus was designed by Grafton Architects and named Britain's best new building by the Royal Institute of British Architects in October last year.

Ji8腦瞳厙 has launched a project to give health and social care students the opportunity to develop their skills and knowledge by supporting people living with dementia. The Special Interest Group (SIG) is being led by senior lecturer in social work Maria Brent and aims to raise awareness of dementia and provide students with volunteering opportunities in the local community, which will benefit them both professionally and personally, as well as supporting those living with dementia and their families and carers.
